I love running at night! Especially with my new little gadget, this was its first trial. Now I realize this is a weird photo and you can’t see what kind of light contraption I have on so I have some follow up photos to elaborate. Also if I really love this thing I’ll figure out where it was purchased but it was a gift so I don’t know the answer to that yet!
Ok so here’s the close-ups. This little guy is super light weight and attaches to the bill of any hat.
As beautifully modeled here by my run happy visor! It wasn’t that super bright, but it is 1,ooo times more comfortable to wear than a headlamp so it’s for sure got that going for it.
I love running on stormy night!
And on Sunday, Adrian and I went to see the Georgia O’Keefe exhibit at the De Young Museum. They are super strict about taking photos in there so we had to take one outside in the park instead. Not that I’m complaining, it was totally beautiful out.
We worked up quite an appetite so we went and got Parisian croissants and organic Strauss soft serve in a cone. It was the best ever.
Anyone else have night running techniques and secrets? Amazing light or reflective contraptions?
I finally got together my painting videos I did as I painted my latest one, and made 3 time-lapse videos showing the process of my painting! Since I missed my tempo run yesterday I felt I should do something speed related so I tried something a bit different.
I just decided to, after about 1 mile to warm up, run fast as much as I could as long as I could and just slow down here and there as needed. Just sort of a different mindset than a tempo run or strict set run because there is no particular set goal time or speed.
It felt amazing and was one of the best runs, and the best I’ve felt in a long time. I ran 6 miles averaging 8’04 overall including my warm up, and didn’t even bring my Garmin watch because I just wanted to do it by feel and not cheat by looking at it!
Anyways, I’m happy, it felt great, and I felt great and I am planning to do a run like that more often!
When I got back I decided to make some gluten free pasta I bought because it looked good even though I’m not gluten free, just thought I’d check it out.
I also got inspired by the veggies in the fridge and decided to make some with no plan and I made way too much but it was pretty yummy!
Do other people run like that and I’m new to the party?
I saw this online and it made me happy. If ever discouraged it’s good to remember just getting out there is the most important thing and often leads to a great run and a better day after!
Today I did a track workout. I do have a goal to speed up a bit so I feel I have to. I go back and forth about if I like these, and today I did. I did a warm-up, then 5×800 meter repeats around 6:45 pace, then a cool down and some stretching.
Stretching is one of my goals for the year as I am not great at keeping up with it! And today the run felt absolutely wonderful. I used my Brooks Pure Connect for the track work out. They’re a little lighter and a good fit for the track.
I also worked on this today, I am really seriously into succulents lately, clearly.
This is what I ate for breakfast and eat some version of almost every single day of my life.
I’m completely obsessed.
It’s yogurt, strawberries, blueberries, a banana, honey, and granola. I also often add grape nuts, and vary the fruit. The yogurt doesn’t change much, always some kind of organic low fat variety of regular or Greek yogurt. It looks ridiculous but it is seriously sooooo good!
